Homeopathy is a system of holistic medicine which involves treating the individual with the aim of triggering the body’s natural system of healing.

Homeopathy is based on the principle that ‘like cures like’, that is, a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses, can be used in small amounts to treat similar symptoms. For example, drinking too much coffee can cause sleeplessness and agitation, so according to this principle, when coffee is made into a homeopathic medicine, it may be used to treat people with sleep deprivation or anxiety.

The first consultation, which lasts around 60 minutes, looks at the symptoms, medication and emotional history, diet, sleep patterns and lifestyle.  On the basis of the information provided a treatment plan will be prepared.  Where homeopathic remedies are prescribed the patient will be given full instructions on how to use them.  Homeopathic remedies are made from plant, mineral and animal sources and prepared using a process of dilution and succussion (a specific form of vigorous shaking).

Follow-up sessions, which usually last 30-45 minutes, allow for the review of the patient's response to the remedies and progression through the treatment plan.

Homeopathy was discovered by a German physician called Samuel Hahnemann  over 200 years ago.  He identified a system of improving health and vitality by treating the root cause of symptoms.  Using gentle remedies made from natural sources he found it was possible to stimulate the body's innate healing processes.

Client testimonial for Homeopathy

"Six months after my GP referred me to a consultant for a chronic health condition I despaired of ever feeling well again.  With conventional medicine doing little for me, I decided to try homeopathy.  Just three days after starting the prescribed homeopathic remedy I felt better.  I received a first class service, which I highly recommend to others".
