REFLEXOLOGY EXPLAINED

Reflexology is a means of helping the body to relax and heal itself by working pressure points in the feet that correspond to specific organs, glands or systems of the body. Reflexology targets the whole body rather than individual symptoms which means that most people of all ages can benefit from it.

Hot stone reflexology

Hot stone reflexology is also available. The short term effect of heated basalt stones (applied for around 15 minutes depending on the individual needs of the client) can be extremely therapeutic and promote a deep and soothing massage.

If you are interested in looking at research that supports the use of Reflexology for health you may like to start with  the Complementary Medical Association website at:www.the-cma.org.uk.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST REFLEXOLOGY SESSION

At your first reflexology session a short medical history is taken.  This is designed to ensure that the reflexologist is made fully aware of any pressure points on the hands or feet that need to be avoided. Reflexology is given with gentle pressure using cream or oil.  Reflexology stimulates the body's own healing which means that most people find it extremely relaxing  both physically and mentally.
